We are heading up to Vermont for the holidays and I’m planning to add a few holiday decor touches so that next week feels special for the kiddos. We are keeping it minimal, and with the snow, it already feels like a true winter wonderland.

One thing I’m very excited about for the holidays is sitting down at our table that was gifted by Vermont Farm Table, surrounded by the ones I love. Not only do I love this table for its practical everyday use, but now we get to sit around it for many Holidays to come. I am so excited to be hosting another holiday dinner at our Vermont Farm Table, just as we did a couple years ago, which you can see here!

Setting The Table

My approach to a beautifully set table is to keep it simple, yet inviting. With our Vermont Farm Table as our base, I started out by adding some linens and candles. When it comes to the linens, I laid out a table runner and linen napkins. The textures and tones of your linens can add such a sense of coziness as well as contrast against the table and other decor. I always love to incorporate candles as well as it adds to the coziness and intimacy of the table. Who doesn’t love a candle lit dinner? Next, I added in some foliage. If you don’t have fresh cut flowers or faux greenery, use nature! For this years holiday tablescape I used some branches from a Hemlock tree on our VT property. It was the perfect touch that brought in the simple holiday element I was looking for.

What I love about this years holiday tablescape is that it can be used far beyond the holidays. With simple decor that incorporates everyday pieces – such as the cutlery, glasses, and linens – you can create a tablescape that is perfect for every season.

I hope these photos have sparked inspiration for your own holiday tablescapes, and I would love to hear your approach to setting the table for the holidays!
