My Winter Natural Skincare Routine

January 18, 2018

Since living in New England, I’ve had to learn how to treat my extra dry skin during the winter months. Luckily, since I LOVE skincare products, it’s actually been really fun to mix up my routine for Summer/Winter. There are some products I have two different kinds of so that I can switch them up every other day and I’ve noticed that does really well with my skin. If you’ve been following my skincare path, I’m sure some of you know, I’ve dealt with on and off “hormonal” acne on my jawline and neck area and have learned how to heal it using natural/organic skincare. So I’m very interested in products that will keep my skin hydrated but can also help heal that area of my skin. Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite products in my medicine cabinet right now. I hope this helps some of you that may be new to the natural skincare realm and want to try new products. Please let me know if you have any questions!
one // Beauty Counter’s Cleansing Balm – Okay. THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!I recently won this in an Instagram giveaway *thank you, Bridget of @itsahuntlife!!* and I was so excited to try it because I was looking for an oil cleanser or something similar that was very hydrating and gets rid of makeup. This is one of the best products I’ve tried and it’s very therapeutic to give yourself a little facial massage by rubbing it into your skin. I leave it on for a few minutes and then take it off with a warm, soft washcloth. Highly recommend!

two // This Fresh Sugar Polish is really great! It’s helped my skin feel and look so much more alive! I love this stuff and use it with just the tiniest bit of water and remove with a soft washcloth. I switch off using this and the Fig & Almond Face Polish from Millay. This one is more hydrating so I like to switch off.

three // One of my favorite moisturizers – the Tata Harper Repairative! All of Tata Harper’s products smell SO beautiful and this one is great for people living in dry climates.

four // Ursa Major is becoming one of my go-to brands for natural skincare. Mostly because Cody loves their products as well, so we can both shop with them! I use this Vitamin C Serum every other day in the morning and I love it! It brightens and helps with fine lines because of Rose Hip.

five // This Rose Gold Face Serum from Essential Rose Life is what I trade off using every other day with the Vitamin C Serum above. I discovered this brand at The WELL Summit last year in NYC and love their products.

six // Dear Tata, may I please come visit your beautiful farm in Vermont…because I cannot get over how much I love your products and I’m in awe of your VT farm life. Let’s hope she reads that! 😉 ANYWAY, her Boosted Eye Contouring Mask is INCREDIBLE – I use it every night and actually just ran out of it so I need to replenish soon. Also, if you didn’t know, I read on this Refinery 29 article, “Tata Harper’s products are Eco-Cert Certified, meaning everything production-wise — from the imports to distribution — has been evaluated green from start to finish”. Now that’s a thoughtful and sustainable brand to support, folks!

seven // Flawless by Friday’s in 15 Under Eye Rescue – I just received a little trial package from this Canada-based company and I’m SUCH a fan! I haven’t used eye products that I’ve noticed a big difference yet, and these work so well. Can’t wait to share more!

eight // Tata Harper’s Beautifying Face Oil – I won’t go into too much detail here because I think I overdid it above. 😉 But, this oil is great! I previously used the Indie Lee face oil and love that one as well, especially if you are looking for something a little more budget-friendly.

nine // Another Beautycounter Favorite, the lip conditioner – I keep this nearby my bed so I can reapply before I go to bed and when I wake up. My lips are SOOOO dry right now and this is helping a lot. I kept it in my hand at the dentist the other day when I had to get my fillings done because they really know how to mess up your lips with all their tools and gadgets.

ten // This dry brush. If you don’t know what dry brushing is, here’s a great article and there are tons of youtube videos showing you how-to.  It’s great for your lymphatic system and keeps toxins from building up! Highly, highly recommend!

eleven // After dry brushing, I use this Organic Sugar Scrub from Organic Bath! My favorite is the lavender scent and it keeps my skin looking so refreshed after a bath or shower! I LOVE the people behind this brand, good friends of mine in Boston and they put on The WELL Summit that I attend every year.

twelve // Last but definitely not least, Osea’s Anti-aging body balm is the perfect thing to follow the scrub from Organic Bath. I LOVE THIS SO SO MUCH! Another product that I need to replenish. It’s helping my skin so much this winter. I don’t use it as an everyday lotion, but I use it after I shower at night every other night/morning and follow-up with another everyday lotion.
