Setting the Table for the Holidays

November 21, 2019

I love a beautifully set table and there is no better time than the holidays to give it your all. I get so excited about a cozy, holiday-inspired table setting, no matter the size of your gathering, large or intimate.  Though our Thanksgiving celebration is on the smaller side this year, we still like to create an ambiance that is incredibly welcoming and inviting.

As the foundation for all the pieces set on top is our gorgeous custom Tapered Shaker table from Vermont Farm Table. We received the table a little over a year ago (check out the process right here!) and have fallen more in love with it every day since. It’s where we eat as a family every day and where our friends and family gather for holidays and celebrations. I love knowing that this piece will be with us for years to come and all the special memories that have – and will continue – to happen around it.

The two key pieces for a simple, yet pulled together table is to add greenery (real or faux) and mix in some candles and linens which bring warmth and texture to the hard surfaces. You can’t go wrong with candlelight so go crazy! 🙂

With our table as the beautiful base, I went to town decking it out with beautiful linens from The Everyday Co., simple greenery, and a mix of both special and everyday pieces to create a tablescape that reflected our personal style, and was easy to replicate for Thanksgiving, as we’ll be celebrating in Vermont again this year!

I’m excited to share these images and ideas to inspire you for your own holiday celebrations!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a healthy and happy holiday season!
