After a late Friday night discussion, Cody and I had the idea of taking a Saturday day trip somewhere new. Since the weather is finally nice and it probably won’t stay around too long (do I sound bitter?), we need to take advantage of being outside and exploring. Also, we love that we can cross two states under 2 hours – still blows my mind. Neither one of us had been to Maine so we decided to go to Portland!
Portland, Maine via Oh, I Design BlogAfter we pulled in and found a parking spot right away downtown, we were walking to find a spot to have lunch on the water. As we were walking down the street, we ran into Miles of Fiber and Water and his lovely wife, April of El Corazon Food Truck! What are the odds!?! They directed us to Boone’s Fish House and Oyster Room for lunch (which was awesome!!) and we met up with them after at Soony’s Restaurant for a cocktail (I loved my rose water cocktail!). There were even street performers right by the patio that were quite the entertainment…I am talking caution tape and juggling fire batons people. Portland, Maine via Oh, I Design Blog Portland, Maine via Oh, I Design Blog Portland, Maine via Oh, I Design BlogAfter we explored the city a bit, we drove to see The Portland Head Light – definitely a bucket list item to mark off! And this photo made me realize I need to make a hair appointment….like yesterday. Oops.

Random trips like these make my heart happy and give me so much inspiration. I hope you find a way to explore places near and far this Summer. It’s so important! 🙂

Happy Tuesday everyone!
