You guys – I have seriously been slacking on my Boston posts and here’s why: my phone went MIA last week. Quite possibly in the hands of someone who obviously wanted my phone more than me. With my phone out of sight, I also lost a few of the photos I was saving for this post. Anyway, I recovered a few after getting a new phone…thanks to iCloud. SO…this post is going to recap a few extra days so I can get caught up. During the week of not having a phone I realized how much I use it and how I tend to miss out on things when I am glued to it. I rode the subway all week without it and you wouldn’t believe how many people are glued to their devices. Are we so engrossed in technology that we cannot make eye contact with strangers or *gasp* spark a conversation with one?! I am going to make more of a conscious effort to put the phone down while riding the subway (and other daily activities) and use that time to drink it all in and perhaps make a new friend.
We were a few days late on sending our Christmas gifts to our loved ones this year. It felt like we were just getting settled in Boston when Thanksgiving and Christmas were quickly approaching. Artifact Uprising made giving something special to our families easy + completely worth it! We created books filled with our wedding photos – it’s so fun to customize each book and relive the weekend over and over. Cody and I really want to make one for ourselves to keep all of our wedding + thailand honeymoon memories in one place.
We have been homebodies lately and hurrying to get our space to feel like home as much as possible. We are actually at a point where this apartment feels more put together than our last two places. We got a new dining table from West Elm and some lighting from Crate & Barrel thanks to our lovely wedding gift cards (will share those in a following post). As you can tell from the photo there are still things we need to accomplish in our apartment – but once everything is in a good place I will share it!
I know I shared this photo before – but recently I have been taking breaks by making coffee and opening a book. I have found this is the perfect way to enrich my mind in my down time. As one of my resolutions is to read books that will better my business…I am on the right track!
One of my instagram photos of Bella is in West Elm’s January catalog! This photo was taken about a year ago by the lovely Limelife Photography duo and West Elm loved Bella’s modeling skills so much they decided to put her in the catalog. Fancy that!
My new Sorel boots have really come in handy in this crazy weather!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with the lovely company of Sabrina + Christian at Puritan & Co. I highly suggest the whole grain risotto (pumpkin, wild mushroom, sunflower). Sabrina and I both had this – and it was amazing!! It’s been so great getting to know these two and we look forward to the many memories to come.
Alright, the next two days are going to end the 30 Days of Boston series – but I still plan on posting random happenings in this great city. It’s been good to us so far – at least for the most part. We are still getting used to the accent and the random grumpy people you stumble across every once in a while…trying to put that in the nicest way possible. Haha. But the city itself is SO beautiful and we are thankful for everyone we have met so far. Can’t wait to keep exploring and sharing.
Oh my goodness, Bella is famous! Congrats on the West Elm inclusion, how exciting! (And yes please, coffee again soon — xoxo)
She says thank youuu! 😉
