I first found out about ZENTS a la The Spa at the Woodstock Inn. I fell in love with their hand soap and when I asked what it was they pointed me to a big table full of ZENTS products. The one that is used at the spa, is Earth and it’s my favorite scent of theirs. It has a calming blend of sandalwood, fir needle and bergamot. Ironically enough, they reached out to me to see if we could partner together and I couldn’t be more thrilled! When a brand that we already use and love wants to partner with us, it’s a dream.
Our studio uses a layered design approach in our design process — Meaning, we love to design the entire space and then layer in the art and decor. Sometimes we will design a room around a piece of art, but it all around depends on the project. Once we get to the art and decor phase, after furnishings have been ordered, we will create wall elevations to mock up different art pieces / layouts. Then in the final phase, we will add in some styled decor concepts in our design presentation (insert some of our favorite ZENTS products).

Lighting is one of my favorite pieces to add to design projects. I think similarly to candles, they can really create ambiance and I think are art pieces on their own.
We always include lotions and candles in bathrooms as part of styling / functionality.

When our team thinks about designing a space, we often think about our five senses and how we can bring scent in both our own living environments and those of our clients. Personally, I tend to favor scents reminiscent of a spa environment—subtly aromatic rather than overly sweet.
- Where to start — group items in odd numbers (we love the number 3) and start with the largest pieces first. It also helps to place books first and then add in other decor.
- Balance of heights and shapes — combine various heights and shapes of objects to create visual interest.
- Create depth by using different materials within your decorative accessories.
