ROAD TRIP WITH OH, I DESIGN!

Road trips are THE BEST. (and I feel like I could end my post just with that statement and some beautiful + inspiring photos that make you wanna grab your keys and just go). 🙂 Cody and I went on an impromtu mini-trip up the coast to Gloucester, Massachusetts. It was so wonderful to get in the car after not being in it for so long – city life is fun but man, sometimes you gotta get out.

I recently heard of an awesome company called RelayRides where people in different cities can lend their cars to people that are visiting – kind of like Airbnb but for renting a car! They reached out and asked what some of my must-have items when embarking on a road trip. Naturally, I got overly excited at the thought of a longer road trip with the gorgeous summer sun, windows down, good tunes + exploring the country with no agenda. I decided I would answer their question in a post on here for fun!

MEDICINE + FIRST AID

1 // help me, I’m nauseous – because I love their packaging and I tend to get a bit car sick, especially on windy roads.

2 // peppermint essential oil – I put this on my temples to keep me awake and it helps with nausea as well.

3 // a first aid kit – safety first, y’all.

BEAUTY + FASHION

1 // ban.do twist scarf – i absolutely hate when my hair is in my face….haha weird i know. That means, I never look like the girl above with her air waving in the wind all cute like. this scarf is just the trick to make me feel cute without the whole hair blowing in the wind thing (i know my jokes are not funny, i am really tired fyi).

2 // a hat – my hair can get wild after not washing it, this hat would be necessary for me to tuck all of it away.

3 // sunscreen – i have had the worst sunburns (freckles + fair skin) this is CRUCIAL. i love the “here comes the sun” sunscreen by philosophy.

4 // sunglasses – duh.

5 // baby wipes – trust me, these can double as toilet paper and a napkin AND clean your face. Need I say more?

6 // chapstick – this lip balm is amazinggg.ENTERTAIN + DOCUMENT

1 // journal – when Cody + I went on our honeymoon to Thailand, I wrote down all of our memories in a cute journal our friend got me and I often read through it. I feel like I have a bad memory too so this is really necessary for me.

2 // jambox – tunes are important and why not have them when you stop for a picnic?

3 // fujifilm instax camera – because it’s fun to take polaroids (and *bonus* I like to tape them in my journal)

4 // a cute bag to hold everything

SNACKS

1 // bkr water bottle – gotta stay hydrated

2 // granola bars – i load up on these to stray away from fast food tendencies.

3 // twizzlers – if you know me, you know i LOVE twizzlers and they are always included in my road trips

4 // sunflower seeds – there was a moment in college where i think i became addicted to sunflower seeds (as my friends)….see #3.
