Shortly after finding out we were expecting a little one in September, I went through a stage that I like to call….“the burrito stage”. In between feeling really nauseous and attempting to work on client projects, I had a couple of meltdowns where I cried to Cody saying nothing in my closet fits me or looks good on me…and how terrible my skin looked…and how gross I felt. Dramatic, I know. But we will just blame it on the hormones…okay?! Without going into too much detail, let’s just say I’ve learned being pregnant doesn’t mean you automatically feel like you are “glowing”. There’s a period of time where you don’t actually feel pregnant and you don’t look it – you just feel like you ate too many chipotle burritos.
With a lot of patience & uplifting comments from Cody, a few additions to my wardrobe and a visit to the hair salon… I have been feeling much better about myself. In addition, I have found a few products that have helped boost my confidence during this time. That’s why I am excited to introduce you to Skinvolve, a skincare company that develops products that help make your skin feel/look firmer and smoother. I have been using the Body Boost Gel & Body Karate Cream for over a week now and I can definitely tell a difference in my skin – it looks like I got airbrushed or something! It’s kind of crazy.
I have always been a little bit self conscious about my skin because I am very fair and covered with freckles and I’ve had my fair share of sunburns (mostly from when I was younger and thought I was better than spf) that have aged my skin a bit. Now that I am taking much better care of my skin, I have invested in products that are made of natural ingredients. The good news? Skinvolve is paraben & sulfate free and filled with natural botanical extracts! This stuff rocks.
