Furniture 101 || Tolix ChairI have started a new & fun series about all things furniture!! I have always been intrigued by furniture design. Although it was the most challenging course I took during my college career, it was also the one I cherished the most!

I will begin the series with the Tolix bistro chairs photographed above. Doesn’t it seem like these chairs have suddenly taken over every patio and bar….and studio….and home?! Well, that’s fine by me. To me, they are perfect. Lightweight, functional and the ability to use them indoors + out, they come in many colors and have a clean/industrial look.

Designer: Xavier Pauchard for Tolix

Time Period: 1930s

Made of: Galvanized sheet metal

The Story: Originally, the chairs were used in the weather room on a battleship and in exchange for beer, they were given to local bars by breweries. *not confirmed to be true but makes for a good story to tell your friends.
