10 Clean Beauty Brands on my Bathroom Vanity
Clean Skincare. Where do I start? My love for clean skincare started back in 2013….I still remember my first visit to Follain in the South End of Boston. I remember spending the last bit of my paycheck on an Indie Lee face oil that I adored.
Before we delve into the details, I want to acknowledge the investment of good skincare. It’s a passion of mine, and it’s something I allocate resources to consciously. This platform serves as a reference point for you to explore and perhaps even start with travel-sized versions of these products. My skincare regimen is a cherished ritual and quite meditative. As someone with not the best skin DNA, my skin has never felt or looked better, and I take comfort knowing these wonderful brands prioritize clean ingredients.
Products & Brands —
01. May Lindstrom — My holy grail for makeup removal and winter moisturizer: The Blue Cocoon. The smell alone is absolutely decadent. I’m also a big fan of her Problem Solver mask and love to put it on my face, neck and decolletage, wait 30 minutes and then wash it off in the shower. It’s the best exfoliant.
Her skincare is the most luxurious clean skincare brand I’ve found…you can really feel the nutrients in her products and all of the love and care that go into each jar. Also, I should note that she only sells from her site as she wants to create in small batches to ensure the efficacy and quality of the ingredients.
02. Follain — In 2013, I stepped foot into a Follain store in Boston and that’s where my love for clean beauty started. They really educated me when it came to the ingredients that are in our skincare and beauty products and now they have their own products and now the stores are Credo Beauty since the sale of the company.
03. OSEA — OSEA. My goodness I love you. Allow me to provide some context: I have fair, freckled, and combination (but mostly dry) skin— yay for me, right? 😉 Their Algae Body Oil and Anti-Aging Body Balm are something I use everyday on my body. I mix them. I also love mixing them with a tanning serum.
04. Tata Harper — I’ve been a Tata Harper fan for so long now and love that their products are made in Vermont. The products smell delicious and feel so incredible on my skin. My favorite duo is exfoliating with the Regenerating Cleanser and then layering on the Resurfacing mask and leaving that on for 15 min. It leaves my skin feeling SO refreshed. Highly recommend!
05. Goop – The Goop Micro Derm Instant Glow is SO good. I like to buy the mini and travel with it as I only use it monthly. You can use it more often but I use other products that might conflict with the ingredients.
06. Merit — This is a favorite clean makeup brand for me. I specifically love their Great Skin Instant Glow Serum and put it on prior to my makeup. I also use their Cream Blush daily in the Beverly Hills Color.
07. Saie — Okay, Saie is such an awesome brand. One of the makeup artists I met at Follain years ago now works for the brand and I get so excited to watch her tutorials with their products. My current favorite of theirs is the Sun Melt bronzer with their Buffing bronzer brush. This duo is everything. Special shout out to Tyler who gave me a tutorial in the studio 😉 Also, another product shout out – their Lightweight Dewy Illuminator is chef’s kiss.
08. Westman Atelier — This is a new-to-me brand and I’ve been LOVING their vital complexion drops and I’ve heard great things about their blush stick.
09. Ursa Major — I got Cody hooked on some skincare products thanks to Ursa Major. He loves the face wash and face balm. He also likes the 3 minute flash mask.
10. Organic Bath Co. — First of all, hi Gianne! I miss you! Organic Bath Co. has incredibly thick and nourishing body butters. I use this on my feet, knees & elbows. In the winter, I slather this on mixed with the OSEA Body oil. Gianne started The WELL Summit in 2015, which I attended with Evie (a fresh newborn), where I was introduced to a community of like-minded individuals who value wellness and sustainability. Since then, I’ve been more conscious of the products I use on my skin and in my home.
MY CURRENT AM / PM SKINCARE ROUTINE
I’d say about 90% of my skincare and makeup are clean. I believe in finding a balance between clean and science-based products to achieve the best results for my skin. Incorporating a few science-focused products helps me target specific concerns effectively, while I still make sure to prioritize clean beauty whenever possible.
Morning
01. Wash Face with Grown Alchemist’s Face Wash (I use these Clean Skin Club Towels to dry my face).
02. On some days, I will use these eye patches and ice roll my face depending on how puffy I am when I wake up.
03. Then, I apply a little bit of Vintner’s Daughter Serum (or the Follain Vitamin C Serum) so my face doesn’t get dry and put on my Red Light Face Mask for 20 min. & meditate (I try to do this every other day).
04. From there, I apply a bit more of the serum above & layer on the May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon or Tata Harper Face Oil.
05. Followed by sunscreen & then I start my makeup routine.
Evening
01. I currently use the Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser or the May Lindstrom Pendulum Potion to take off my makeup (& use the Clean Skin Club Towels mentioned above).
02. I will then do a double cleanse with the Grown Alchemist.
03. Then I use the Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel Pads – obsessed with these!
04. After that, I apply a full syringe SkinCeuticals Hyaluronic acid.
05. Then, I apply either the May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon or the Summer Fridays Rich Cushion Cream.
After Showering
I always apply this OSEA Body Oil!
Okay, now I have to ask, what are your favorite Clean Beauty Brands? Who did I miss??
