A CLEAN HOME IS A HAPPY HOME

Let’s be honest, it’s nearly impossible to have a spotless home when you are working, trying to complete a long to-do list and all the other demands life brings. It seems there’s always something home-related on the to-do list: whether it’s laundry, dusting, sweeping or the dishes…etc. I can barely keep everything organized and clean in our […]

LIGHTING DESIGNERS TO WATCH: LUCIE KOLDOVA AND DAN YEFFET

Based in Paris, innovative designers Lucie Koldova and Dan Yeffet have taken the lighting industry by storm with their powerful ‘Muffin’ collection for Brokis. The duo, who typically work individually, have collaborated a few times in the past, but this collection is particularly outstanding. Lucie, who was born in Czech Republic, is an established product and furniture designer. She graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and also undertook an Internship with Hogskolan for Design and Konsthantverk in Sweden. Lucie designs a range of different products, such as furniture, lights, glass sculptures and objects of desire from her studio in Paris, which she opened in 2012. Lucie partnered with Brokis in 2010. Dan, who was born in Jerusalem, is a diverse, established designer and produces a variety of things, such as furniture, objects of desire, glass sculptures and lights, urban spaces, gallery objects and more. He graduated from the Bezalel Academy, School of Art and Design in Jerusalem and the Gerrit Rietveld with a BA in Industrial/Product Design in Amsterdam. Dan opened a studio after graduating and moved his studio to Paris in 2005, and hasn’t looked back since. Dan also began work with Brokis in 2010.  Both of the designers are successful in their own rights, however, when they combine forces they really do produce something spectacular. In a nutshell, their Muffin lighting collection comprises of two simple elements, hand blown glass and waxed European oak wood. The duo derived inspiration for this from French bakeries (umm, yum!!) and have created floor lamps, table lamps and pendant lights. The designs of each of these are simple, yet powerful. Due to the unobtrusive nature of the design of each product in this collection, they are able to be used in any room, no matter the theme.   The full selection of the Muffin collection can be viewed on RelaxHouse.
