Life lately.
+ our house: we officially close on our new home (finally!!) on July 1st & move in July 15th. I am definitely going to miss a few things about living in our downtown apartment, but I can’t wait to truly be able to call this place home and feel settled.
+ we are not doing anything to the home other than changing out light fixtures & painting when we move, but we have some future renovation plans for the kitchen & master bath! I am also on the hunt for a good sectional.
+ pregnancy: i am about 27 weeks along and things are going really well. I’ve been feeling really great and enjoying the 2nd trimester, minus some on and off back/rib pains. My baby bump (I feel so weird calling it that…haha) is growing a lot faster now and I have been using zoe organics’ belly butter like crazy.
+ one thing I am bummed about is I have been getting really tired at various times of the day (similar to the 1st trimester). I try to remind myself to take it easy as much as possible, but it’s not easy with my full plate of client projects, blog collaborations/other projects , to-do list before she arrives!
+ i am starting to think about how long I want to take off of work and honestly it kind of overwhelms me. Since I will not have a paid maternity leave (one of the downfalls of freelancing), I will need to get back to work as soon as possible after she arrives. I know I will want a few weeks to get the hang of being a new mom and enjoy having a newborn, but I don’t know when to transition and how to go about it. Child care in Boston is crazy expensive….so then there’s that. Any business owner/entrepreneur mamas have any advice here? 🙂
+ current projects: i’ve been working on some really awesome design projects: a gorgeous south end apartment, a model apartment near Harvard, a nursery (to name a few) and am getting a couple photographed in the next few weeks. I can’t wait to update you guys so stay tuned!
+ our studio: so I think I’ve been saying for a few months now…I am going to get some photos of our studio on the blog…and still haven’t. Well, we have still been dealing with some lovely construction (loud drilling, water coming through after power washing, tarps hiding the natural light, etc.). So we are on hold until we feel comfortable to put down rugs and fully decorate our space. It seems to be close to done…here’s to hoping! I will definitely keep you guys in the loop because the space is really awesome and I want to finish styling it + share it with you.
