jenna kutcher printsDo you ever feel like you are too busy to devote any time to just being creative? Like creativity and brainstorming should be put on the back burner while you are pumping out work to meet deadlines? No matter if you are an artist, teacher, designer, maker, accountant, etc… there are all different types of creativity.

Since the holidays have come to a close and we are beginning 2015 with high hopes, I think it’s a good time to make a goal to be more creative with no agenda. Just for the sake of creating. My job as an interior designer is 80% business and 20% creativity – and that 80% leaves me feeling a bit exhausted and unsatisfied at times. Let’s face it, our to-do list is always going to be there with more than just one item on it…so what’s the point in trying to accomplish everything all at once? Perhaps we need to be more present and make creativity a priority.

An example of one of the ways I find myself using my creativity in small doses is through instagram. What are some ways you express your creativity? Do you journal? Draw? Cook? I would love to know.

One way or another…I am going to find a way to bring out my most creative self in 2015.  Who’s with me?
