she

Story time. So there is a certain someone I refer to as my “mom” in San Diego – her name is Stephanie. I had the pleasure of meeting and developing a long lasting friendship with her through West Elm, where she was the manager at the time. You know those people you meet that constantly remind you of a close loved one and they just get you?? Well, Stephanie reminds me of my mom, who I lost when I was younger to…that damn thing we call…cancer.  Anyway, I don’t want to get too sappy on here… but I will say that Stephanie is someone who is constantly looking out for me and motivating me to keep doing what I am doing. She has loaned me her recipe book to copy her favorites (because she knew it was bad when I was bringing microwavable rice for lunch), made me a “survival bag” for my office job a while back, stored our wine for our wedding and has given me some fantastic pep talks during lunch/dinner dates. She is always there when I need her and has the best and most honest advice. I could go on and on, but she just sent me this pin and (sadly enough) it brought tears to my eyes. I am sure you are wondering why I am crying over a pin…especially this one. Perhaps I am a bit emotional this week, or maybe it’s because there are times when a girl just needs her mom. Stephanie probably has no idea how perfect of timing this pin was, but it reminded me that there is someone who sees how hard I work and reminds me to keep going and work at achieving my goals. We all need people like this in our lives. Find those people and keep them near and dear to your heart. I will always be thankful for all of the “Stephanies” in my life (you all know who you are), who are my biggest fans and inspiration, and I can only hope I am this person to a few of you.

Thank you Stephanie Looser, you are THE BEST.
