Something great happened this weekend, if you cannot tell by the photos 😉 – I got engaged to my love, Cody Klein. Goodness, I might cry writing this.
THE STORY:
During the weekend, Cody and I had friends in town so we both took some vacation to spend the weekend with them. On Saturday evening, we went home to change and get ready for our “dinner reservation” in Del Mar. Before dinner, Cody wanted to take all of us to the Plaza rooftop to get a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery. Little did I know, he was pretty much waiting till it was time to walk over to his “spot”. FInally, we are walking to Poseidon (the dinner location), but Cody was walking the opposite way along a trail to “take photos” and “show his friends the view”. At the time, I was annoyed because Cody wouldn’t stop to take a photo with me. Haha poor guy! Ahead, he sits down on a bench and looks at his phone. I asked him, “why are you reading emails right now, look at this view”. He told me to “just sit down” and look at this email he just received. In the email was a story of our relationship along with photos starting with us on our first date. He called it a “blog post”. In my head, I am entirely confused and asking weird questions. Like, “who made this?” and “are we going to print this, I love it”. What in the world was going on in my head… I have no clue. By the time I finished reading the lovely story, I get to the last photo. A picture of him in this exact spot on one knee. “WHAT???” – me. Â I had no time to even figure out what was going on before I look up and he is on one knee in front of me. I immediately feel a rush of tears and as he is attempting to ask me to marry him through his choked up voice, I forget how this all goes and almost grab the ring! But really, who does that?! He drops it and we both start to laugh and hug. Our friend Dillion was hiding in the bushes the whole time and has a video and photos of the entire thing so he jumped out and started taking more pictures. Finally, I said YES! Cody then grabbed my hand and walked me over to the edge of this cliff overlooking the ocean and below were all of my best friends in San Diego and my best friend from LA holding up signs that spelled out CONGRATS C & J! (pictured above). It was the most perfect moment. I have never felt so incredibly special.Â
From there we ended up not even having reservations at the restaurant, Cody made reservations at a different restaurant where all of my friends could join!Â
It was truly the best weekend of my life and I am so excited to celebrate with my friends from home in October! Thank you to everyone for all of the congratulations and support during the weekend. We are SO happy!
The end. 🙂
