ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH SAN DIEGO

Above I have gathered some of my favorite vignettes of living in San Diego since I just marked my one year anniversary.  I have to say, San Diego has been quite spectacular to me – and a constant life changing adventure. I have my man to thank. The opportunities are endless and I have met some incredible people so far. Oh and yes… living near the ocean is great too. The weather is perfect, the food is fresh and the views are breathtaking. I am a lucky lady.

1. LIZ BECK EVENTS – When I first moved to San Diego, I gained an internship with Liz after emailing back and forth for a couple of months. She was the one who introduced me to the wedding industry here in Southern California and opened my mind to all things events. I learned an incredible amount from Liz and the other interns – the experience was irreplaceable. Some of my favorite parts of the internship was helping with event styling, attending The Knot Event and working in Liz’s beautiful studio to name a few. 

2. Living near the ocean is so new to me – so I definitely appreciate it’s beauty. However I have found myself, as of late, forgetting to embrace my surroundings more. Riding beach cruisers along the board walk is life changing folks.

3. WITH LOVE DESIGN – I am a business owner and entrepreneur?! Crazy.  My best friends, Anna and Jessie, are my business partners in a wonderful interior design + photo styling company called With Love, Design. After talking about how we wanted our own business… we finally gained the courage and decided to start our dream… and I could not be more proud.  Our website is being designed as we speak by the lovely Hey, Sweet Pea (they also created our logo and biz cards). If you live in California, Texas or Oklahoma definitely let us know if we can assist you in designing your space, wedding or photo shoot. 🙂 We will have a lot to share in the next few months.

4. HGTV’S SECRETS FROM A STYLIST INTERN- Amazing experience, hands down. I was able to be behind the scenes for HGTV’s Secrets from a Stylist and assist in the creation of the Holiday Special. Emily is probably one of the coolest gals I’ve ever met, along with Orlando and Rebecca – her assistants. They have a great thing going and I was honored to be apart of such a wonderful team.

5. CREATIVE CONNECTION USA- San Diego edition. I am the hostess for San Diego’s Creative Connection. After meeting the lady who started this fantastic group in LA, I was guided to start a San Diego Chapter. I cannot tell you how many ridiculously amazing ladies I have met through planning these events – I am excited to see what the future has in store for this organization!

6. WEST ELM – Ahh, my lovely day job. It’s like a designer’s heaven to work in such a creative environment. I work with great people and I enjoy what I do… what more could one ask for? I have had the opportunity to design apartment models, the homes of clients and help with visual merchandising. My job rocks. Oh and meeting Nate Berkus and Mrs. Lilien was awesome too. 😉

And of course, living with these two – Cody and Bella. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Cody so I truly have him to thank. We are all so happy and ready for more friends to come visit us in the beautiful San Diego.
